Introduction
Fasting during the season of Lent is a means
for us as believers to identify with the suffering of Christ. It is also an
opportunity for us to deepen our relationship with Christ while we practice the
spiritual discipline of self-denial.
This will be demanding but the reward will be greater spiritual renewal.
As a
church, we will be participating in the Daniel Fast, a partial fast, which
requires that we restrict our daily diets to fruits and vegetables; and abstain
from all beverages except water (Daniel 10:2-3). **If you have pre-existing medical conditions, please consult with your physician before making any dietary changes/restrictions.**
Everyone
is also encouraged to reflect and evaluate what has been distracting you from
your intimacy with Christ. Those distractions are the things you should
consider denying yourself during the Lenten season. Distractions could be
social media, video games, gossip, lying, complaining, shopping, etc.
Continue praying with us twice a day at 6am and 6pm.
We begin our journey together on Ash Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
